Firstly, “The Sound of Silence” is a creation that discuss the art of listening in a visual language. I’ve used soft pastel chalks on a Fine Art paper. Those are two ears positioned next to each other upside down, painted by opposite colors.
Secondly, I painted this piece to encourage us to give more thought to the way we listen. And realize we hear based not on only the content of what is being said to us, but also by our current state of mind. We can always hear a message of love and harmony if we train and tune ourselves correctly. There is beauty in the sound of silence too. Silence is not empty. it’s friendly, loving and very alive and has answers. so you don’t have to fear it. Just listen.
Finally, I think it goes well with the song “The Sound of Silence – Simon & Garfunkel”
