About Me
One day, if the higher force is willing, and if a good cause will present itself, I am willing to write an entire book about me. Believe me when I tell you there is enough interesting content to cover regarding my complex personality, insights, and life experiences. But, even by doing so, it will be next to impossible to fit me into a definition.
Meanwhile, I figured out that my abundant creativity mainly through drawing, is the perfect tool to share my energy with all of you wonderful, precious diamonds.

My name is Rotem Ben-Layish, and I was born in “Chinese dragon year” 1976. I was raised in a small heavenly looking countryside kibbutz named Dafna, which is positioned in the upper galilee region of Israel.
Growing up as a part of a kibbutz society has seeded and formed the most noble foundation of values I could ever ask for.
I’m addicted to nature especially to dipping in the freezing cold Dan river waters (which is flowing trough Dafna). I am all about simplicity, humbleness, responsibility, consideration, extreme honesty , and the loving of science and the natural.
I am the eternal student. I have a strong urge to attain knowledge in almost any subject and it led me to eventually form a varied and impressive collection of professional certificates.
Through out my life, no matter where I was or what I was doing, I always loved to paint and attended sketch and painting classes. I love dearly every one of my teachers and I will always be grateful to them.
I’m yet single without kids, but I have a great family that I love.

After the mandatory army service, I studied Computer Science and achieved my bachelor’s degree. I had been a salaried Software Engineer for a long 12 years and was mostly engaged in 2D/3D Graphics Application development on windows environment, as part of R&D international teams. During that time I had lived in the center region of Israel.
By the way, I’ve developed this site by myself, and I also have a master degree in Real Estate. I told you before It’s a collection, I have been alone and I rarely rest.
In 2014, I’ve also been busy studying computer animation and design for new media course, but something went terribly wrong and I haven’t finished my studies and had to fold back home.
I’ve dedicated a part of my site to present some of the exercises I’ve done during my short period of computer animation studies, for you to enjoy.
After that I’ve spent a year and a half working as a salaried Web Development employee, until something even more dramatic happened to me. I like to call it “spiritual awakening” experience.
Moving on from that experience made me suddenly know my life could never be the same and that something got to fundamentally change in the way I live my life. I have decided to drop down my Software Engineer hat and step away from the machine and to rise up to the canvas and the soul studies.
Yes, I also have a third extraordinary hat. I’m a certified Shiatsu and NLP therapist.
In the future, I would like to help people who has been in similar situation as me.
For now, I mostly Sketch and Paint and I’m in the course of making a part time business out of it.

I also offer an individual dream drawing session for kids who loves to paint. We will be painting their dream together using watercolors on a Fine Art Paper, and they will be able to frame it and hang it above their bedroom.

It’s best to practice how to remain calm in any given situation. Try to realize that you are enough, and you already have everything you need to be very happy.
