Firstly, “Stare Inwards” is a Caravaggio reproduction of his creation “Boy with a Basket of Fruit”. I’ve used soft pastel chalks on a black Fine Art paper. I’ve managed to capture an expression of staring with an inwards attention, and that’s what makes this piece so attractive.
Secondly, I painted this piece to encourage us to shift our attention inwards more often. We can always hear a message of love and harmony if we stare inwards long enough. Self centering and observation is essential for our healing process. We can’t solve our suffering by ignoring it, only by becoming more aware and deal with it.
Finally, I find that the feeling of inner peace is always available in the now.
